Maximilian Vogler was born in Konstanz, Germany and studied with Gerhild Romberger at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold and with Werner Güra at the Zurich University of the Arts. Masterclasses with Philippe Herreweghe, Ingeborg Danz, Margreet Honig, Ann Murray, Robert Holl, Julius Drake, Graham Johnson, and Malcolm Martineau complemented his education. Currently, the young tenor receives vocal coaching from John Norris and Sami Kustaloglu in Berlin.
Maximilian made his professional stage debut in 2023 at the Staatsoper Stuttgart in Ulrich Rasche's production of Bach's St. John Passion, conducted by Diego Fasolis. In summer 2023, he performed in Georg Quander's production of Giovanni Paisiello's La Molinara at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, under the musical direction of Bernhard Forck. During the 2024 Easter and Summer Festival, he returned to Schloss Rheinsberg as Achille in Gluck's Iphigénie en Aulide, alongside Vivica Genaux and Dietrich Hentschel. He reprised the role during the Brig Barock Festival 2024 in Switzerland later that year, deepening the experience of this challenging part. In the summer of 2025 he will make his debut as Eisenstein in J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus at the Kammeroper Rheinsberg.
In university productions, he sang roles including Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, Triquet in Eugene Onegin, Lyonel in Flotow's Martha, and Belmonte in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
Maximilian Vogler is a sought-after concert soloist, performing tenor solos in major works by composers such as Monteverdi, Bach, Handel, Mozart, and Mendelssohn with renowned ensembles and conductors. He also possesses an extensive Lied repertoire. Concert engagements have led to collaborations with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Rundfunksinfonieorchester Berlin, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, lautten compagney Berlin, La Scintilla Zürich, La Banda Augsburg, Gli Angeli Genève, and Ensemble L'arpa festante. He maintains a close connection with the Origen Festival Cultural in Switzerland, where he regularly curates and performs programs.
His CD recordings include the tenor arias in Bach's St. John Passion with Gli Angeli Genève and the recent 2025 release of Louis Spohr's Des Heilands letzte Stunden with the Kammerchor Stuttgart and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under Frieder Bernius, in which he can be heard in the part of Jesus.
Maximilian Vogler is a prize winner of the 32nd Singing Competition Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg and received the Förderpreis of the City of Konstanz. He was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Konstanz and was supported in Switzerland by the Lyra Foundation and the Marianne and Curt Dienemann Foundation.
